Kiwis accept international suspensions

New Zealand have today withdrawn their challenges to the suspensions handed down to two players by an International Disciplinary Panel following incidents of foul play in their Gillette Four Nations defeat by England at Hull last Saturday.

The Kiwis had initially decided to contest a two-match ban for Issac Luke for an illegal leg twist on Rangi Chase and a one-match suspension for Jeremy Smith for use of the forearm on Sam Tomkins.

However the New Zealand management have now accepted the suspensions, which will apply to club matches in 2012.
